A young woman enters a very strict convent where the nuns are allowed to speak only two words every three years. After three years of being in the convent, she is visited by the Mother Superior.

"You may say your two words now," she says.

"Bed hard," the young woman states.

"Good," says the Abess, "Now you must spend the next three years in silence and prayer."

The next three years go by and the Mother Superior visits the young woman again.

"Food bad," she says, and spends the next three years in prayer, virtue, and silence.

Nine years since the woman first entered the convent, the Abess visits her for the third time.

"I quit!" the young woman cries.

"Well, I'm not surprised," says the Abess, "For the nine years you've been here, you've done nothing but complain."
